Mothers’ Union

Mothers’ Union is an international Christian membership charity of four million members, in 83 different countries.  Members share a heart-felt vision to bring about a world where God’s love is shown through loving, respectful and flourishing relationships.

Members pursue this vision actively, through community programmes, advocacy campaigns and prayer life.
Our aim and purpose is to show faith in action by supporting stable marriage, family life and the protection of children.
Mothers’ Union members work towards five objectives:
1) Promoting and supporting marriage.
2) Encouraging parents to develop the faith of children.
3) Maintaining fellowship of Christians united in prayer and service.
4) Promoting conditions in society favourable to family life and the protection of children.
5) Helping those where family life has met with adversity.
Many churches, worldwide, have local branches of the Mothers’ Union. We have a branch at Holy Trinity, Bingley with St Wilfrid’s, Gilstead, which meets monthly. Most meetings are held at 2 pm on the second Tuesday of the month at Holy Trinity Church. We value greatly hearing visiting speakers on various family and social topics. Members and friends support social events and fundraising for Mother’ Union charities. We have an annual coffee evening and an outing.
Our Advent carol service is also enjoyed by residents, of local Residential Homes, who love to join in and hear the choir of our local Trinity All Saints School sing for us. This is much appreciated by all.
Please see our church notices and Mothers’ Union programme and come along to Mothers’ Union meetings and enjoy a cup of tea afterwards. You will be very welcome.
