Holy Trinity Church was built in 1866-67, although the Spire was not constructed until 1881-82. The Spire caused problems from the beginning after a serious settlement, which happened before the church was reopened, caused by the weight of the spire needed considerable repairs. This meant the church did not reopen until Tuesday 5th August 1884.
